Day 04: SAMARINDA – MUARA MUNTAI
In the early morning transfer to harbor for public house boats down to Mahakam River 9-10 hours by boats to reach Muara Muntai. Stay in overnight at Muara Muntai Village.
Day 05: MUARA MUNTAI – TANJUNG ISSUI
Having breakfast sight seeing at the village (the village made from Wood). Very hard wood, then transfer by small boats to Tanjung issui – passing Jumping Lake. In the afternoon you’ll see dance performance by the Dayak People. Stay overnight at Tanjung Issui longhouse (Dayak house).
Day 06: TANJUNG ISSUI – MANCONG – MUARA MUNTAI
Having breakfast continuing the trip by small boats to Mancong by Ohong river during the trip you can see beautiful scenery, monkey Long nose Monkey, birds monitor lizard, then at Mancong we can see Grand Long house, then back for Muara Muntai. In the afternoon going to Semayang Lake to find Dolphin and Sunset. And overnight at Muara Muntai.
Day 07: MUARA MUNTAI – LOUDRAS – MINTA – MUARA PAHU
Having breakfast continuing the trip by small boats to see proceed Making Palm sugar, then to Belowan village, back to muara pahu Then to melak for accommodation.
Day 08: MELAK – KERSIK LUWEI – EHING - TERING
Having breakfast, transfer to the Kersik luwei for Black Orchid and Beautiful panorama (if we lucky we can see black orchid), then going to Ehing to see long house and old grave of the tribe. After that we go to Tering for long ears of the Dayak Tribe. After that to Longiram for Accomodation.
Day 09: EHING TERING – SAMARINDA

Day 10: SAMARINDA – BANGKIRAI NATIONAL PARK
From the harbor continuing drive by car to reach Bukit Bengkirai. Stay overnight at Bukit Bengkirai cottage.
Day 11: BANGKIRAI NATIONAL PARK
Having breakfast and then trekking to see tropical rain forest and climb up the Canopy Bridge.

South Kalimantan, Jungle Adventure - 12 Days / 11 Nights

Day 02: BANJARMASIN – BATU TANGGA
Transfer to Batu Tangga small district by bus, then trekking to kiyo, village on the foot of Meratus mountain. Overnight at local house.
Day 03: BATU TANGGA – DATAR ALAI
Trekking to Tiranggang mount for about three hours, then take a rest. Afterwards, trekking to Datar Alai waterfall (camp I). Overnight on riverside camp.

Six hours trekking through tropical rainforest to Jumantir ( camp II ) on the foot of mount Besar , the highest part of South Borneo province. Overnight on bivouac ( camp II ).
Day 05: JUMANTIR – MOUNT BESAR
Four hours trekking up the top of mount Besar , exploring wild orchids on route and enjoying scenery on roof of South Borneo.
Day 06: MOUNT BESAR – NINI BAKAT HILL
Trekking down about three hours to Jumantir ( camp II ). Then continue to Nini Bakat hill ( camp III ). Overnight on bivouac.
Day 07: NINI BAKAT HILL - TEMBATANG
Trekking about five hours to Tembatang river( camp IV ), the border of Central Hulu Sungai (upstream) and South Hulu Sungai (upstream) regencies. overnight on riverside camp.
Day 08: TEMBATANG - KADAYANG
Four hours trekking to Kadayang village, crossing beautiful valley and traditional farm of Kadayang villagers. Overnight on local house.
Day 09: KADAYANG – LOKSADO – MUARA HATIP
Down to Loksado about three hours than visiting Malaris long house. Afternoon, transfer to Muara Hatip resort on Amandit riverside. Overnight on resort.
Day 10: BAMBOO RAFTING - BANJARMASIN
Watching villager making the bamboo raft with villagers, after finishing the raft continues to get the bamboo rafting crossing mount Kantawan and tropical forest alongside of the river. The bus will wait on the downstream side to transfer you to Banjarmasin . overnight on Banjarmasin hotel.
Day 11: BANJARMASIN EXCURSION
Early morning (05.00 a.m) by short walking to the boat terminal to have a river tours with visiting Floating Market in Kuin Village, then heading to Kembang Island at Barito River to see monkey in nature life. Afterward cruising back and heading the trip to Cempaka village to see the traditional Diamond mining. Sometimes people try their luck in tents or more of meter deep holes with high risk than to Diamond Factory and jewerly shops in Martapura. Late afternoon drive back to hotel.

Day 01: JAKARTA ON ARRIVAL
Upon arrival in Jakarta Soekarno Hatta Internatinal Airport, we will transfer you to hotel at down town in Jakarta. Free program.
Day 02: JAKARTA – PONTIANAK (West Borneo)
Transfer to Cengkareng Airport to catch your flight to Pontianak. Upon arrival in Pontianak chek in at hotel. There are a lot of things to do while we are there. We can explore the riverbank area of Pontianak by the wooden boat, from where we can observe the old and the new Pontianak from the different perspective. We can do Pontianak sight seeing with this way. Among the highlights of the sightseeing trip is Pontianak harbor, Beting Permai water village, and the huge Kapuas bridge. We can do this for about 2 or 3 hours.
Day 03: PONTIANAK – PUTUSSIBAU
One hour air access by plane from Pontianak to Putussibau by Garuda. Tropical rain forest, Kapuas River, and some shifting cultivation point can be shown from the plane. From the airport, the trip continues to simple hotel for dinner and accommodation.
Day 04: PUTUSSIBAU – NANGA BUNGAN VILLAGE
To day, another 6 hours upstream the Kapuas River by using traditional longboat is needed to reach Nanga Bungan Village. Exploring upper Kapuas river all day by passing some rapids, sometime we should out of the boat to pull the boat passing some shallow river or walking through the river bank while the motorist and his boat navigator manage the long boat to pass rapids. The trip also passes some longhouses of Dayak Taman. Having lunch on the river bank while observing the landscape will give us another impressive. Overnight stay at villager house.
Day 05: NANGA BUNGAN – TANJUNG LOKANG
Exploring Bungan river to reach the upper village of Dayak Punan that named Tanjung Lokang. Landscape, flora and fauna, and rapids will excite. The trip will spend 2, 5 hour if the river is flood. In the dry season, all of longboat passengers should walk on the shallow river by stepping on the rock pulling the boat together in about 6-7 hours, Rest and explore the village. Overnight stay at villager house.
Day 06: EXPLORE KAUNG CAVE (Diang Kaung) – BU’UNG VILLAGE
To reach the historical and artistic cave (in the local language Diang Kaung), we have to do jungle trekking in about 3-4 hours. On the way, the participants will see the farm (ladang) of Punan tribe. The participants will be able to see the mountains in some point. In the cave we can find an old cemetery of Dayak Punan. Some sculls can be seen. With the local guide, the participants can explore in and around the cave. After having lunch the trip continues to reach Dusun Marang (Bu’ung village) overnight in the villager house.
Day 07: BU’UNG VILLAGE – MONYAROI RIVER MOUTH
After breakfast, trip continue heading up Langau River. Cross some stone inside the river by traditional longboat gives another experience and need adventurous spirit. Hanging tent will be constructed on flat area to spend the night in. As the sun sets the jungle awakes and you will hear the amazing sounds of the nighly jungle life. Overnight stay at Tent.
Day 08: MONYAROI RIVER MOUTH – SALT SPRING ( SEPAN)
Start from the camp, jungle trekking start to reach Menyaroi salt spring in about 6 hour. Tent for overnight should be constructed. After taking a rest the animal watching start If you are lucky you can encounter the Bornean Gibbon (Hylobates muelleri and H. agilis), the Rhinoceros Hornbill (Buceros rhinoceros), the Giant Squirrel (Ratufa affinis) and a great variety of birds. You also have an opportunity to watch wild big mammals in their natural habitat (salt spring such as the Bearded Pig (Sus barbatus), the Lesser Mouse-Deer (Tragulus javanicus), the Greater Mouse-Deer (Tragulus napu) or the Sambar Deer (Cervus unicolor) drinking the mineral water at the sepan. Overnight stay at Tent.
Day 09: SALT SPRING CAMP – JUNGLE CAMP
It is time to trek back to Monyaroi river mouth. From the river mouth the longboat will carry down the river. Sense the rainforest of Borneo (landscape, pure water, and canopy, flora diversity (liana and orchid). While the river journey the participants can joint with the local to catch fishes traditionally. As the sun sets the tent need to construct- cook your fishes a spend your night with the hunting and gathering local people (Punan) in the jungle and feel the ife in slowly seconds. Overnight stay at Tent.
Day 10: JUNGLE CAMP – TANJUNG LOKANG
After breakfast, you will leave jungle to reach Tanjung Lokang village. River journey down Langau river to reach Akit river mouth. Before coming to Akit river mouth, you will pass Bu’ung village then from Akit river mouth you have to do trekking to reach Tanjung Lokang village. Overnight at the guest house of Tanjung Lokang. Overnight stay at Guest house.
Day 11: TANJUNG LOKANG – NANGA BUNGAN – PUTUSSIBAU
After breakfast, trip back to Putussibau by traditional wooden longboat, check in to the hotel.

Orang Utan and The Adventure of Bamboo Rafting 16 Days/15 Nights

Day 01: BALI - BANJARMASIN
On arrival at the airport of Banjarmasin you will be met and drive to Hotel for check in. In the afternoon the trip by Kolotok boat on Martapura River and the small Kelayan River. The boat trip takes about 2 hours, where we can see the activities of the local peoples. Back to the hotel for accommodation and dinner.
Day 02: BANJARMASIN – MARTAPURA- BANJARMASIN
Early in the morning we walk to Martapura River and then by Klotok boat to visit the floating market of Kuin in Barito River. After then we drive to Alalak Island in Barito River, where we can see the activities of the local peoples. Back to the hotel for breakfast and than drive by car to Martapura where we can see the local peoples looking for the Diamond. Visit souvenir market. Lunch in Martapura and hen back to Banjarmasin through the other road.
Day 03: BANJARMASIN - LAKSADO / TANUHI
Early in the morning we are take the Klotok boat to another floating market on Martapura River. The journey takes about 1:30 minutes to the Lok Baintan floating market. After that we back to the hotel for check out and then go to Nagara village where we can see the activities of the local peoples and we take a boat to find wild buffalos. The trip continues by car to Laksado Cottage in Tanuhi village for accomodation.
Day 04: TANUHI – HARUYAN
After breakfast, our trek begins about 8 km from the village Haruyan by some hanging Bridge and rubber plantation. Stay overnight traditional house of Dayak tribe in Haruyan village.
Day 05: HARUYAN – MALARIS – LOK PANGGANG
After breakfast we walk for 3 hours until the Lok Panggang for the overnight stay in a Dayak long house. On the way we will visit the Hananai waterfall in malaris village where we can swimming or enjoying the fresh water of the waterfall.
Day 06: LOK PANGGANG – LOK LAHONG – MUARA HATIP
After breakfast, we walk about 20 minutes to Lok Lahon and our bamboo rafting starting at Amandit River about 5 hours to Amandit Lodge in Muara Hatip. On the way we will enjoy the beauty of the both side of the river.
Day 07: MUARA HATIP - BANJARMASIN – PALANGKARAYA
We drive after breakfast to Palangkaraya through Banjarmasin for accommodations.
Day 08: PALANGKARAYA – KUMAI
Early in the morning we drive to Kumai through Pangkalanbun and check in at Hotel in Kumai.
Day 09: TANJUNG PUTTING – PONDOK TANGUY – CAMP LEAKEY
After breakfast board the klotok to travel up river for about 2 hours boating and then up a side creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rain forest. En route stop at Pondok Tanguy, the rehabilitation center for the new ex-captive orangutans. At Camp Leakey you will have opportunity to trek into the rain forest with your expert guide and the forestry rangers to appreciate the flora as well as perhaps sighting wild orangutans, gibbons, macaques, and birds. Lunch provided on boat. Afternoon visit the feeding station to see rehabilitate orangutans are given additional foods. We will then sail back down the river to overnight on the boat.
Day 10: CAMP LEAKEY
After breakfast we make second visit to Camp Leakey for an easy trekking in the different routes around The Camp Leakey for bird watching and to see the morning "Feeding Time" for the ex-captive orangutans with opportunity seeing of other animals and exotic fauna. Afternoon visit the feeding station to see rehabilitated orangutans are given additional food then we slowly boating down the river for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: CAMP LEAKEY – KUMAI – PANGKALANBUN – TAPINBINI VILLAGE
Breakfast at the boat and then boating back to Kumai river port. Then taking you to other side of Pangkalan Bun for boating through Arut River by speedboat. Arut River is another river system, which gives access deeper into the interior of Central Kalimantan, the home of Dayak tribes. Tapinbini is about 6 hours up river Lamandau by speed boat and is one of the Dayak Tumon (or Dayak Lamandau) biggest villages. Upon arrival at Tapinbini sight seeing around the village to and make an easy climbing to their traditional/slash and burn plantations nearby the village. Overnight at the simple house.
Day 12: TAPINBINI – KINIPAN VILLAGE
Breakfast on the local house, and then prepare for the sail up river. We will need almost full day of boating to the Kinipan village. Depend on the water level of the river. Along the way is the breathtaking surrounding view of the virgin rain forest, challenging rapid, nice place for shelter on the river bank, and occasionally meet the local dayak on the river. Lunch will be serve on the river bank, just under the shade of the trees. Arrival in the afternoon. Overnight on the local long house. In the night time, a traditional dance will be held for your team.
Day 13: EXPLORING KINIPAN & THE DOMAIN DAYAK DELANG
We will one day to explore the surrounding area of Kinipan village. There are some trails leading to the hinterland to the local farm land, other compound of the Dayak. This will be the great chance to learn and to understand the way of life and the culture of the hinterland of Dayak. We will overnight on the lolca house for better stay. (B,L,D)
Day 14: KINIPAN – TAPINBINI
Today is another full day ride down river to Tapinbini passing the same river. Overnight at Tapinbini.
Day 15: TAPINBINI – PANGKALANBUN
In the morning we sail back by speedboat to Pangkalanbun. The journey down stream is much faster then up through the rapids but takes most of the day as we will stop at Bakonsu Village, another Dayak Village where you can see the ancient graves and long house as well as some remnants from the Dayak Head Hunting Age. Stop will also be made in Kotawaringin for lunch and for visiting an old mosque and the remain of Sultan (a Malayan king) palace and its collection. Late afternoon arrive Pangkalanbun, direct transfer to Blue Kecubung Hotel for accommodation.
Day 16: PANGKALANBUN – NEXT DESTINATION

Departure by DAS (Dirgantara Air Service) at 09.00 arrival Putussibau at 11.00 (please recheck again the flight schedule). This flight use small plane with capacity of 24 passenger but only possible for 22 seat only as they have to refill the gasoline. This flight use propeller and little bit noisy. Ear plugs is recommended. They allow extra luggage for 10 kg maximum so please only bring the very important things when you start this expedition. They provide a glass of mineral water with snack. They have no luggage cabin and all the stuffs will put on the back. Stay at simple hotel in Putussiba.
Day 04 : PUTUSIBAU – KAPUAS RIVER
You will start your adventure expedition from here. After breakfast at hotel in Putussibau towards to the headwaters of the Kapuas by long boat. The long boat is about 1 ½ - 2 meter wide and 6 - 8 meter long with capacity for 4 - 5 passengers. The long boat without any roofs so it will be hot and also little noisy. Needed all necessary supplies, estimate day, as far upstream as possible. It is recommended to wear your water sport sandals (TeVa) or rubber shoes and bring ear plugs, hat, long sleeve, short pants, extra snacks & drinks and dry bags. You will take this journey with our porters as well as our guide's team. On the way may be the boat will be stop for toilet, cleaning the propeller, refill gasoline or fix the engine. You will pass some Dayak Village in the river side and their unique daily river life as well as some birds such as Eagle, King Fisher, Long Tailed Parakeet etc. Lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight at the riverside at tents or local house.
Day 05 : KAPUAS RIVER – BUNGAN RIVER
After breakfast, continue our journey by long boats as far as up stream. On the way we may stop at the Dayak village to see the long house . We will also pass some rapids, slash and burn agriculture (shifting cultivation) as well as the local people looking for gold, some by traditional way and some by machine along the river side. In certain places we have to go down to the river to push the boat as the level of the water in the dry season s is too shallow. Here you will experience how amazing the boat man and what we call "the Stone Man" the boat crew who knows exactly where is the rock and how to get away from the rapids. It's a great challenge of adventure you will experience. If the rapids too challenging we have to walk along the rock, slash and burns trash barrier in the river side and the boat will pick us up. It's tough here. Lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight in the river side at tents or temporary house or local house.
Day 06 : BUNGAN RIVER – TANJUNG LOKANG
Continue our journey after breakfast. It's more and more challenging here with rapids. Go down boat, push the boat, walk on the rocks, or slash and burn trash barrier in the river side while the boat passing the rapids will give you more challenging experience. On the way you will see the tropical rain forest of Kalimantan, shifting cultivation, traditional gold mining in the river, temporary huts, till you reach Tanjung Lokan. Tanjung Lokan is small villages located inside Betung Kerihun National Park. If you are a handy craft collector you may find some nice basket, "Mandau" traditional machete, "Sumpit" blow gun, "Tangguy" traditional farmer hat etc. Lunch on the way, dinner and overnight at the local house. The guide teams will packing the stuffs to bring along the expedition and divided between them so they will have the same weight to carry.
The duration of the long boat journey is depend on what happen in the fields. Normally the journey started after breakfast till in the mid day for lunch. Then the long boat will stop before dark to set the tents and prepare meals. Sometimes we have to continue the journey longer to catch the best places to stay overnight. Here we need your flexibility so you will enjoy the journey more.
Day 07 : TANJUNG LOKANG – BOBO/SEI BULIT (SUNGAI BULIT)
After breakfast, start the trek across up Land Ladang "slash and burn, long fellow dry rice field through the forest. The first 2 hours we will high up the hill then another about 2 ½ hours passing the jungle and dry small river. After lunch on the way close to the river side, the trek will be high up and down again crossing the dry small river, and Nyinyit Cave (the local people collect the swallow nest that cost so expensive and very good to support their life inside the cave). Before dark we set the tent in the river side of Sei Bulit for dinner and overnight. The guides team will cook for you. Ultimate/rubber shoes is recommended
Day 08 : SEI BULIT – BUNGAN RIVER
After breakfast, crossing the river, up and down passing the jungle, crossing small rivers, and cave. You may see exotic flora and fauna of Borneo. After lunch on the way in the river side, then crossing jungle, up and down passing the dry river, cave and temporary huts that the local people using it while they do shifting cultivation or hunting deer, wild pig, birds, and even sometimes clouded leopard. Before dark, set the tent close to Bungan River for dinner and overnight.
Day 09 : BUNGAN RIVER – BUNGAN LEA RIVER
Now you need to prepare for the challenging trek. The trek is also varied but tougher. After breakfast crossing the big river about ½ - 1 meter deep. Wee will have lots of deal with water, walk on the cliff of the river side and rock. After lunch on the way in the river side, continue the trek up and down the cliff of the river. Overnight and dinner in the river side of Bungan Lea River.
Day 10 : BUNGAN LEA RIVER – PIANG LO’ONG
This is the longest and the toughest trek. After breakfast, crossing up and down passing the rivers, cliff of the rivers and the river side. After lunch continue the trek then started to trek almost the same like before lunch. The trek is so challenging and need more of adventure spirit and energy. Set a campsite close to the river for dinner and overnight.
Day 11 : PIANG LO’ONG – MULER RANGE
This is what the traveler will feel so different crossing the border of West & East Kalimantan! After breakfast, walked about two hours up and down river till reach the foot of Muller Range. It started from the altitude of 500 M ASL till reach the border of West and East Kalimantan at 1000 M ASL. The path is not so difficult only high up hill passing the jungle. It takes about 1 - 1 ½ hours depend on your ability. No need to rush as the jungle view is fantastic. After reaching the"TUGU PERBATASAN" (BORDER MONUMENT), you need to put one of some your belonging you wear for this expedition such as shocks, cloth or else in the stick around the border for offering to the spirit. After lunch on the way, the trek is easier down the hill until you reach the campsite in the river side. Dinner and overnight at the Muller Range.
Day 12 : MULLER RANGE – Muara CUTING
After breakfast the trek is almost the same before and after lunch passing the rivers - jungle - and rivers. On the way the Dayak will show you how to survive the jungle, collecting the Rotan, hunting, catching the fish, set a trap and you may involved with them. Lunch on the way, overnight at tent in the river side of Muara Cuting.
Day 13 : MUARA CUTING - SAITE
This is the shortest trek. You will trek about only 3 hours to reach Saite so you will have lots of time for relaxing, swimming, take a break or else after hard trek. The trek passing the jungle and river. Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the river side. Overnight at Saite.
Day 14 : MUARA SAITE – TIONG OHANG
After breakfast then trek crossing the river and jungle to reach the mouth of the Mahakam River for 3 hours walk. You will pass slash and burn agriculture before reaching the river side. Upon arrival, the long boat or locally call Cest then take you to Tiong Ohan Village for about 6 - 7 hours journey. Lunch on the way. You will pass some temporary hut as well as slash and burn agriculture and jungle. Dinner at the local simple restaurant and overnight at the local simple house at Tiong Ohong. This is the first village you encounter after long days in the jungles. You may also find more handy craft from Kalimantan with the best quality.
Day 15 : TIONG OHANG – LONG BANGUN
After breakfast at the local restaurant, continue the journey by long boat for 8 - 10 hours. On the way stop at the local restaurant for lunch. You will pass some big rapids, so you need to walk on the rock but it's not so difficult and the boat will pick you up. The views along the rivers so fantastic and you can walk around to see the long house and their unique daily life. Dinner and overnight at the local simple house.
Day 16 : LONG BAGUN FOR CULTURAL PERFORMENCES/BOARDING THE BOAT
As the Mahakam River has a unique characteristic river so you have to be aware about the tide of the river. In the dry season the level of the water could be so shallow so sometimes you have to leave Long Bagun earlier or otherwise you could not get the house boat when the level of the water is not reliable. Day 17 : LONG BAGUN - SAIL ON THE HOUSE BOAT
The boat will start normally at 10.00 but could be change without prior notice. Am. Both sail one day before or this day you will arrive at the same day as the boat has to stay overnight. But better leave earlier if the water is not reliable. The house boat is public traditional wooden boat with two deck, the first deck for carry the stuffs and economy class with capacity more about 100 passengers and the second deck is for executive with capacity 75 passengers. The economy room is more open both sides and no mattress while the others served mattress, luggage room below the bed but all is open no private room and no AC. There is Indonesia style toilet and simple restaurant that provide Indonesian meals, tea, coffee, and snacks in the first deck. The boat will stop sometimes for passengers and loading the stuffs. During the sailing trip you will explore and learn the local way of life "river side civilization" which is much different from what we have normally in the dry land area. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and overnight on the house boat .
Day 18 : HOUSE BOAT - SAMARINDA
Arrival at the house boat I the afternoon about 10.00 Am - 12.00 Pm depend on the schedule. Upon arrival transfer by car to your hotel in Samarinda that takes about 20 - 30 minutes away. The rest of the day is free for your own activity and dinner will be served on your personal account.
Day 19 : ONE EXTRA DAY
This is an extra day. We shall use it at place during the trek where we may need it or just because we want to spend the time there. But it will be during the trek only.
Breakfast at hotel then transfer to the appropriate time drive to Balikapapan Airport to catch your flight to the next destination. It takes about 3 hours from Samarinda to Balikpapan Airport (120 km ) depend on the traffic.
Day 20 : SAMARINDA - BALIKPAPAN
